Join, fabricate and repair metal and other welding material by applying appropriate welding techniques and operating various welding devices. Requirements

Ability to interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics.
Ability to inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
Ability to start up and shut down machines properly.
Ability to operate machines safely and efficiently at or above standards.
Ability to troubleshoot and correct machine/rack-related problems.
Flexibility to work in non-welding areas.
Proficiency in using personal protective, safety equipment and devices.
Active involvement in Continuous Improvement, CI, 5S and STW activities.
Ability to contribute to a team effort.
Ability to maintain a safe and clean work environment.

Responsibilities

Interpret blueprints, specifications, diagrams or schematics to determine appropriate welding process.
Inspect completed welds to determine structural soundness.
Start up and shut down machines properly.
Consistently and safely operates machines at or above standards of operation including waste, quality, efficiency and utilization.
Troubleshoot, identify and correct machine/rack -related problems through proper adjustments to various parts of the machine.
The ability and flexibility to work in non-welding areas when the situation presents itself.
Work in a safe and efficient manner using all personal protective, safety equipment and devices that are required, in accordance with all STW documentation (if STW is not developed for any process within this job, proper training techniques must be followed).
Be actively involved in Continuous Improvement; promote and sustain any and all CI, 5S and STW activities.
Contribute to a team effort.
Maintain a safe and clean work environment.
Other duties as assigned.
