About The Position

Oliver Packaging and Equipment Company is hiring a Welder to perform welding and metal-finishing work in a controlled manufacturing environment. Duties may include MIG/TIG welding, spot and stud welding, and metal finishing. The role emphasizes precision and producing high-quality finished products that meet specified standards. Depending on business needs, a Welder may perform several responsibilities or focus primarily on one. The scheduled shift is 5:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.; overtime and flexible shifts may be required.

Requirements

Comprehensive knowledge of safety practices across different types of machinery and processes.
Ability to read blueprints and technical drawings.
Familiarity with tools and machinery used in metalworking, welding, fiber laser, and press brake operations.
Attention to detail and precision.
Good manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination.
Problem-solving skills.
Ability to switch between different tasks and machines as required.
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
Ability to stand for long periods while performing duties.
Ability to work overtime and/or flexible shifts.

Nice To Haves

Technical training or vocational certification in metalworking is optional but advantageous.

Responsibilities

Perform MIG/TIG welding and metal finishing.
Set up and operate spot-welding equipment.
Set up and operate stud-welding equipment.
Work with metals including carbon steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and aluminum.
Distribute finished work to subsequent work centers.
Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, work orders, and production schedules to determine materials, dimensions, and tolerances.
Use measuring tools accurately.
Inspect materials and finished products to ensure they meet required tolerances and quality standards.
Work safely with materials and equipment and follow applicable safety practices.
