About The Position

The Welder operates welding equipment to join aluminum, steel, and galvanneal components used in truck bodies. The role requires precision to ensure each truck body is durable and meets customer and company standards. Work takes place in a fast-paced manufacturing plant and includes preparing materials, setting up and maintaining machines, inspecting welds, and following safety and quality requirements. Employees may learn multiple welding methods and earn certifications. The company states that many production leaders are promoted from within, with leadership careers often beginning in this role or in general laborer/assembler roles.

Requirements

• Successfully pass a weld test demonstrating welding skill and quality.
• Proficiency welding mild steel and galvanneal materials.
• At least 6 months of welding experience or completion of welding school training.
• Basic math, tape-measurement, and computer skills.
• Basic experience using hand tools.
• Ability to understand and apply measurements accurately.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Nice To Haves

• Previous manufacturing experience.
• Previous experience working on truck bodies.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints to weld metals to the required specifications.
• Operate heavy equipment such as saws to prepare materials.
• Set up machines and perform preventative maintenance.
• Inspect welds for defects and ensure work meets quality standards.
• Learn and apply multiple welding methods and pursue certifications.
• Perform safety and quality checks.
• Follow and promote workplace safety policies.
