•$20 - $27•Onsite

About The Position

Iron Horse is hiring experienced Tank Car Welders / Railcar Repair Technicians for its railcar repair operations in Beaumont, Texas. The position involves a range of welding, torch cutting, mechanical repair, fabrication, and general railcar repair tasks rather than welding continuously throughout the shift. FCAW (Flux Core) and MIG/GMAW are the primary welding processes; stick welding is used occasionally. Candidates with railcar or tank car experience are strongly preferred, though candidates with heavy industrial, structural, or heavy-equipment welding experience may also be considered if they have strong FCAW/MIG skills and hands-on mechanical ability. Work includes repairing and fabricating steel components, cutting and replacing damaged components, performing mechanical repairs, preparing and inspecting welds, and assisting with component disassembly and reassembly. Employees read drawings, weld symbols, repair instructions, and work scopes; enter tank cars and confined spaces as required; work at heights and around industrial rail equipment; document completed work; and communicate repair concerns to supervision. The job is based in an industrial rail yard and repair shop, with exposure to heat, cold, noise, welding fumes, dust, and other industrial conditions. PPE and respirator use are required. The position is full-time, with day shift hours of 6:00 AM–2:30 PM or evening shift hours of 3:00 PM–11:30 PM. Pay is $20–$27 per hour based on experience, with a $1.00 per hour shift differential for evening shift.
