About The Position

The Level 2 Welder plays a critical role in the multi-step process of fabricating products from diverse alloys. This position requires advanced welding skills and the ability to operate a variety of welding equipment in multiple positions (flat, vertical, horizontal, overhead). In addition to welding, the Level 2 Welder is responsible for ensuring quality standards are met, managing documentation, and supporting workflow continuity.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in loading and unloading material onto welding equipment without damaging the product
  • Ability to read and understand welding procedures
  • Competency in various welding positions, including flat, vertical, horizontal, and overhead
  • Proficiency in various welding techniques, such as TIG (Tungsten Inert Gas), MIG (Metal Inert Gas), and ARC
  • Skill in selecting and setting up welding equipment
  • Experience with lift trucks and/or successful completion of Lift Truck competency review
  • Basic knowledge of different welding techniques and welding equipment
  • Willingness to progress through in-service training at specified timeframes
  • Accurate reading of tape measures and other measuring tools
  • Demonstrated initiative and the ability to work independently
  • Attention to detail
  • Completion of an advanced trade school welding training program or equivalent extensive experience
  • High School diploma or GED
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant welding experience in a manufacturing environment
  • Must be a U.S. Person: U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., or protected individual as defined by ITAR (22 CFR §120.15).

Responsibilities

  • Perform advanced manual and semiautomatic welding tasks
  • Inspect and verify welds to ensure they meet specified standards throughout the welding process
  • Identify, address, and correct product defects in a timely manner
  • Conduct and record precise dimensional measurements on products before and after welding
  • Report and document equipment malfunctions or product issues promptly
  • Brief and transition incoming shifts on ongoing work and any pertinent information
  • Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of forklifts for loading and unloading materials
  • Maintain and verify product identification for traceability throughout the production process
  • Ensure that shop router and product material match, and confirm the router is signed off by the preceding department
  • Maintain a strong focus on safety, adhering to company safety requirements and remaining vigilant of surroundings at all times.
