About The Position

This position is responsible for the installation and repairs of various types of truck equipment to the municipal, industrial, commercial, and private industries. The role involves ensuring all welds meet quality assurance standards, determining appropriate welds per customer specifications, and staying up-to-date on new products and services within the industry. The welder will also prep parts by cutting, grinding, and sanding, and will read and execute ROs and Blueprints, working with supervisors to ensure project accuracy and adherence to customer orders or bid specifications.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required
  • Three to five years of Welding experience in 1 or more of the following: MIG, TIG, Stick
  • Possess a technical understanding of Class 7 and Class 8 diesel truck chassis
  • Must be able to understand chassis specification data and chassis design drawings and dimensions
  • Must be able to understand equipment specification data and technical drawings
  • Should have a strong knowledge of Equipment hydraulic applications, air and electrical circuit applications
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical procedures and manuals.
  • Ability to write reports, and effectively present information and respond to questions from managers and customers
  • English and or bilingual English/Spanish
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, add, subtract, multiply and divide alone with ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Valid Driver's License

Nice To Haves

  • Basic Computer skills preferred
  • CDL License preferred

Responsibilities

  • Installation of various types of truck equipment, including: dump bodies, roll off hoists, flatbeds, snow and ice equipment, hydraulic wet kits, auxiliary axles and other equipment.
  • Ensures that all welds meet quality assurance standards
  • Determines appropriate welds, per customer specifications.
  • Attends product and technical training courses as requested by sales manager.
  • Keeps up-to-date on new products and services within the industry.
  • Prep parts (cut grind, sand etc.)
  • Read, comprehend, and execute ROs and Blueprints
  • Works with supervisor to provide and understand proper Job Order procedures.
  • Follows up on project accuracy and detail to make sure end product is built to customers’ orders or bid specs.
