About The Position

This position is responsible for welding complex assemblies that meet station planning and customer specifications. The role involves setting up weld fixtures and tooling, using metal finishing tools and precision measuring equipment, and maintaining safety standards. The welder will also be responsible for administrative tasks such as printing station plans, recording throughput, and completing routers and manufacturing orders. Additionally, the role may require assisting in the assembly area and performing other assigned duties.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of welding in the aerospace industry.
  • TIG welding experience.
  • Welding certification or working towards one.
  • Ability to understand and follow company and customer specifications.
  • Ability to regulate controls associated with all equipment utilized.
  • Ability to operate Pneumatic hand grinders, basic hand tools, overhead crane, welders (GTAW), pedestal grinders, resistance welder, vise clamps and drills.
  • Experience with welding all sorts of metal materials.
  • In-depth knowledge of GTAW and other welding practices and equipment.
  • Ability to follow station planning and read blueprints.
  • Knowledge of precision measuring equipment with the ability to operate it.
  • Ability to interact and communicate professionally and effectively with all levels of employees.
  • Ability to schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and schedule-driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and perform difficult work processes.

Responsibilities

  • Welding complex assemblies to meet station planning and customer specifications.
  • Setting up weld fixtures and tooling fixtures.
  • Using metal finishing tools, basic hand tools, and precise measuring equipment.
  • Printing station planning, recording throughput, and completing routers and manufacturing orders.
  • Maintaining safety standards and performing daily/weekly 6S assignments.
  • Keeping the work area clean and safe.
  • Assisting others in the department and in the assembly area as needed.
  • Performing other duties as assigned.
