About The Position

This role involves performing welding duties using a wire/gas welder on steel components. The welder will operate various machinery and tools, inspect and correct welds to meet specifications, and read/understand job orders and drawings. The position also requires a willingness to cross-train, inspect equipment for maintenance, and work on heavy equipment. The job is performed outdoors in various climates and involves exposure to loud noise and dust. The role requires the ability to climb and work at heights, stoop, bend, kneel, and lift up to 50 pounds. Full hand mobility is necessary, and the use of safety equipment is mandatory.

Requirements

Welding certification required
Some experience preferred
Strong communication skills, written and verbal
Must be 18 years of age

Responsibilities

Perform welding duties using a wire/gas welder
Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified in drawings, work orders or verbal instructions
Operates machinery, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job’s needs
Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications
Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, drawings or work orders
Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other jobs as needed
Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment and notifying supervisor if any equipment needs repairs
Willing and able to work on heavy equipment
