About The Position

The Welder is responsible for welding of fabricated parts to print and specifications. Prepare steel, cast iron, aluminum and stainless-steel material and parts for weld. This role involves preparing steel parts for arc, gas or mig welding, and welding materials of limited thickness where the finished weld is not stressed. The position also requires recommending improvements for area products and processes, correctly and timely job reporting, and professional interaction within the plant. Producing quality work within expected timeframes, adhering to 5-S standards, and communicating any discrepancies or errors on prints or materials lists are key aspects of the role. Collaboration with second and third shift teams to achieve productivity and quality goals, along with additional duties as specified by the Assembly Lead, are also part of the responsibilities. The welder must produce and maintain consistent quality of work, and dress and grind parts after welding. Demonstrating flexibility in high-stress situations, priority changes, or new assignments, and working safely and in an environmentally responsible manner are essential.

Requirements

2-5 years of related experience or training.
High School diploma or equivalent technical school training.
Organization skills
Willingness to learn.
Ability to demonstrate flexibility when confronted with high stress / emergency situations, priority changes, or new assignments.
Ability to demonstrate personal leadership; actively participate in or lead problem solving and continuous improvement efforts.
Ability to read/comprehend blueprints/diagrams.
Basic computer skills

Responsibilities

Prepare steel parts for arc, gas or mig welding.
Weld materials of limited thickness where finished weld is not stressed.

Job report labor correctly and in a timely manner.
Practice good communication and interact professionally in the plant.
Produce quality work in the time frame that consistently meets or exceeds the expectation of Team Lead and Group Lead.
Adhere to the 5-S standards in the work area.
