About The Position
This role involves performing welding duties using a wire/gas welder on steel components according to specifications. The welder will operate various machinery and tools, inspect and correct welds, and ensure adherence to job order specifications and drawings. Cross-training and equipment inspection are also key responsibilities.
Requirements
- Welding certification required
- Some experience preferred
- Strong communication skills, written and verbal
- Must be 18 years of age
Responsibilities
- Perform welding duties using a wire/gas welder
- Weld steel components with welding equipment as specified in drawings, work orders or verbal instructions
- Operates machinery, hoists, hand power tools, slings, grinders, cutting torch, and other hand tools related to the job’s needs
- Inspect and correct welds as necessary to meet product specifications
- Read, understand, and follow job order specifications, drawings or work orders
- Willingness to cross-train and perform the work of other jobs as needed
- Inspect equipment to maintain functional equipment and notifying supervisor if any equipment needs repairs
- Willing and able to work on heavy equipment
