About The Position

Individuals in this position fit-up and weld company products. This role involves welding company products at a standard rate using GMAW (“MIG”), utilizing drawings for fit-up, and working with other welders on large projects. The position requires meeting quality standards, designing and building jigs and fixtures, and interacting with engineering for problem-solving. GTAW (“TIG”) and FCAW welding processes may be required, as well as interpreting drawings to lay out and fit-up large/complex weldments. Mentoring less experienced team members and potentially assuming a leadership role coordinating team members on large projects are also part of the responsibilities. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Pass pre-employment math & measurement test
• Pass GMAW (MIG) weld test
• Ability to read mechanical drawings, including weld symbols
• High School Diploma or GED equivalent
• 7+ year(s) experience required
• Must be able to read and write in the English language
• Basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division)
• Able to convert decimals to fractions and fractions to decimals
• Ability to read a tape measure within 1/16”
• Basic keyboarding skills including printing documents
• Regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear
• Occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl
• Must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
• All required PPE, including steel toe shoes, must be worn
• Maintain a clean work environment

Nice To Haves

• High school or Trade school welding certificate preferred

Responsibilities

• Fit-up and weld company products

• Use personal tools to assist in the above
• Work with other welders on large projects
• Consistently meet quality standards and document the same as required
• Design and build jigs and fixtures as needed
• Interact with engineering for clarity and problem solving
• Use GTAW (“TIG”) and FCAW welding processes when required
• Interpret drawings to layout and fit-up large/complex weldments
• Mentor less experienced team members
• Assume leadership role coordinating team members on large projects
• Other duties as assigned
