About The Position

Gaylord Ventilation, a division of ITW, is seeking a Sheet Metal Fabricator (Welder) to join their team in Tualatin, OR. Gaylord is a leading manufacturer in the Food Equipment Group, specializing in ventilation hood systems.

Requirements

• High quality Tig welding skills.
• Grinding and finishing skills, including fillet welding with uniform width and depth, and grinding and striping no wider than 3/8” with all burn marks blended out and no marks showing.
• Skills to fuse weld a 90 degree joint, keeping weld surface flat, width even, with exterior edge sharp and no rollover.
• Working knowledge of drill motors, cutoff saws, Grinders, drill press, Tapping tools, belt sanders and various hand tools.
• Proficiently read and use a tape measure.
• Read and understand English in order to read/interpret prints, diagrams and drawings.
• Must be a team player, including good interpersonal skills.
• 1+ years Tig welding experience.
• 1+ years grinding/polishing experience.
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum age requirement is 18 years.
• Successful completion of an internal welding demonstration test.

Responsibilities

• Tig fillet weld and finish stainless steel equipment and components with uniform width and depth.
• Ensure high quality standards are achieved and maintained.
• Analyze plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements and sequence of welding assignments.
• Follow all safety and housekeeping rules.
• Actively participate in Safety Program.
• Cross train into other areas and job functions as needed.
• Willing to assist in other areas as needed.
• Installation of screws/nuts/bolts/rivets/silicone and more.
