About The Position

Kokosing is seeking certified welders for marine construction work in Baltimore, Maryland, and Hopewell, Virginia. The position fabricates, joins, and repairs equipment, fixtures, and structures using various welding techniques. Candidates must hold or be able to pass AWS D1.1 FCAW certification; AWS D1.5 SMAW is preferred. AWS D1.5 (3G and 4G) certification is needed for bridge work, and AWS D1.1 is needed for other structural welding. The role requires working while tied off to fall protection and using hand tools, power tools, and welding equipment. The expected base pay is $28.00–$35.00 per hour. Requirements

Must hold or be able to pass AWS D1.1 FCAW certification.
AWS D1.5 certification (3G and 4G) is needed for bridge work; AWS D1.1 is needed for other structural welding.
Must have a driver's license and a good driving record.
Must be able to perform the listed physical and environmental demands, including working or walking on uneven ground or onboard floating equipment, accessing and leaving barges, boats, and piers from moving surfaces, and occasionally lifting or moving up to 50 pounds.
Must have good vision and hearing for details at close range or in the distance.

Nice To Haves

Class B CDL.
Merchant Marine credentials.
Able-Bodied Seaman credentials.
Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC).

Responsibilities

Fabricate, join, and repair equipment, fixtures, and metal structures using oxygen-acetylene, electric arc, MIG, and TIG welding techniques.
Operate drill presses, power saws, grinders, metal lathes, welding equipment, and hand tools.
Review plans, drawings, work samples, specifications, and work orders to determine work requirements.
Work while tied off to fall protection.
Use necessary hand and power tools.
