About The Position
Modern Packaging is seeking a full time Welder for their Deer Park, NY location. The Welder is responsible for fabricating, assembling, and welding metal components used in the construction of industrial machinery and equipment. This role requires performing high-quality welds, and ensuring all work meets company quality, safety, and production standards.
Requirements
- A minimum of 2 years’ experience in welding.
- Tig welding of Stainless-Steel experience is a plus.
- Reading and understanding of blueprints.
- Operating of angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
- Aligning components using measuring instruments and clamps.
- Ability to stay organized and perform work in a safe and orderly fashion
- Ability to follow oral and written instructions
- Ability to communicate and have discussions in English
- Ability to work overtime when needed.
- Good interpersonal skills and ability to multi-task.
Nice To Haves
- Tig welding of Stainless-Steel experience
Responsibilities
- Perform TIG welding on stainless steel components used in machinery and equipment
- Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, and schematics
- Fabricate, fit, and assemble machine parts and structural components
- Inspect completed welds to ensure structural integrity and compliance with specifications
- Operate additional shop equipment such as grinders, saws, presses, and drills
- Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean, organized work area
