About The Position

Holman is seeking a Second Shift Welder to join their team in Huntington. This role involves fabricating components using various techniques such as cutting, welding, and drilling, working from blueprints and written specifications to meet customer requirements. The position requires conducting quality control checks and inspections to ensure components meet specifications and standards. The training period is approximately six weeks, with the training shift being Monday-Friday from 5:30 am to 2:00 pm. Upon successful completion of training, the employee will be assigned to the 2nd shift, which operates from 2:00 PM to 12:30 AM, Monday through Thursday.

Requirements

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in welding, preferably in a manufacturing or fabrication environment
  • Competency in Steel/Galvanneal and Alum MIG processes, TIG welding is a plus
  • Hands-on experience with cutting, drilling, and other fabrication techniques
  • Ability to work from blueprints and written specifications to fabricate components
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols and practices in welding and fabrication environments
  • Must be competent producing good welds while welding in flat and horizontal positions, uphill, downhill, and overhead welds
  • Must be able to perform within the established company standards, which include but are not limited to standard operating procedures, attendance, quality and performance.
  • Must pass a physical, drug test, and criminal background check prior to employment.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience using cutting torch and plasma cutter preferred.
  • Ability to wear a respirator
  • Required to pass a G1 weld test

Responsibilities

  • Fabricate components to complete a project, will include cutting, welding, drilling and other techniques
  • Ability to work from blueprints and written specifications to meet customer requirements via MIG and TIG welding.
  • Use various processes including cutting, welding (MIG), drilling, and possibly others to fabricate components as required to complete projects
  • Conduct quality control checks on own work to ensure components meet required specifications and standards; perform inspections of welded joints and fabricated components to identify and rectify any defects.
