About The Position

We are seeking a skilled Welder to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding, with the ability to fabricate various components for custom automation equipment. This role requires a keen eye for detail, the ability to interpret technical drawings, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3–5+ years of welding/fabrication experience in a manufacturing, automation, or machine shop environment.
  • Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding (Stick welding a plus).
  • Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints and welding symbols.
  • Experience with fabrication tools including: Grinders, saws, and cutting torches, Drill presses and basic machining tools.
  • Working knowledge of metal properties and welding techniques for different materials.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working with custom machinery, automation equipment, or structural fabrication strongly preferred.
  • Welding certification (AWS or similar) is a plus but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform MIG, TIG, and/or Stick welding on steel, stainless steel, and aluminum components.
  • Fabricate machine frames, guards, fixtures, and structural components for custom automation equipment.
  • Cut, grind, and prepare materials for welding using saws, torches, and other fabrication tools.
  • Ensure proper weld penetration, strength, and appearance consistent with quality standards.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and engineering drawings.
  • Lay out, fit, and tack components according to design and dimensional requirements.
  • Verify measurements and alignment prior to final welding.
  • Collaborate with Machine Builders, Electricians, and Engineers during machine assembly.
  • Assist in installing welded components into automation systems.
  • Make modifications and rework welds or fabricated parts based on engineering changes or fit-up issues.
  • Inspect welds and finished components for structural integrity, accuracy, and compliance with specifications.
  • Use measuring tools (tape measures, squares, calipers) to ensure proper dimensions and tolerances.
  • Identify and correct weld defects or inconsistencies.
  • Maintain welding equipment, torches, and tools in good working condition.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper PPE usage, ventilation, and OSHA guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
  • Recommend improvements to fabrication processes to enhance efficiency and reduce rework.
  • Support lean manufacturing initiatives and standardization efforts.
  • Stay current with welding techniques, materials, and best practices.
