The Welder is responsible for the quality of their welds, inspecting pre-existing welds on received parts to ensure and uphold the integrity of the part. This role requires the ability to inspect parts before and after welding to ensure they meet task requirements, determine the correct wire for the material with minimal assistance, and read and interpret WPS. The Welder must be able to preheat material and utilize the Oxi-Fuel heating torch with minimal assistance and supervision. Maintaining a clean and organized work area is essential. The position requires strong knowledge of fabrication tools such as grinders, the ability to read blueprints/drawings, and follow job routers, correctly clocking hours properly for the designated task. The Welder will set up weld machines with minimal assistance per related WPS, and utilize cranes, hoists, and forklifts as appropriate. Strong knowledge of welding practices and standards is necessary, as is the capability to assist junior-level welders. Other duties may be assigned by management. Job Shop and Welding experience is a plus. All welding certifications will be done on site, and employees must be certified through NOV. Forklift certification is a plus. The role emphasizes safety consciousness, reporting safety hazards, promoting a safe working environment, and participating in actions that promote a safety and quality culture within NOV.
