About The Position

Eaton’s IS AER FED division is currently seeking a Welder - 2nd Shift to join our team in Jackson, MI! The core hours are 4 pm - 12:30 am, Monday - Friday. The hourly rate for this position is $34.52 per hour. This Jackson, MI facility is a unionized location. There is a 5-month probationary period that involves monthly evaluations, after which you will be considered a union member and begin paying union dues. Our team is looking for a motivated individual to join its team as a TIG Welder. The TIG Welder will be responsible for the set up and production of all jobs assigned, following all safety and team guidelines to produce parts that will meet or exceed Eaton and customer specifications.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited institution.
  • Certification in Welding from an accredited institution OR a minimum of 1 year of (GTAW) TIG Welding experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Miller Dynasty Power Supply preferred.
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and WPS/PQR instructions preferred.
  • Demonstrated aptitude using calipers, micrometers and visual weld inspection knowledge preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Tig Welding Titanium, Aluminum, Inconel, Stainless Steel and Carbon materials ranging in thickness from 0.020" to 0.120” and O.D.’s from 0.188” – 2.00”
  • Inspection of parts using fixtures, gages, and other inspection equipment.
  • Using blueprints to accurately create welds.
  • Active involvement in creating a safe workspace and following safety best practices.
  • Work on cross functional Lean/Continuous Improvement Teams to improve manufacturing process efficiency and customer quality and delivery performance.
