About The Position

Daikin Applied is hiring a Welder for its second shift at its Staunton, Virginia facility. The starting wage is $28.00 per hour, plus a $2.30 second-shift differential. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 1:50 p.m. to 9:50 p.m. The role involves welding and fabricating chiller products, interpreting production documentation, operating fabrication equipment, working to ASME Code regulations, inspecting finished work, and maintaining records. The facility is climate controlled. Employment is contingent upon successful completion of pre-employment requirements, including verification of employment history and education, background screening, and drug testing where permitted by law. Safety-sensitive positions may require cannabis testing. Work visa sponsorship is not available.

Requirements

Ability to lift, push, and/or pull materials; stand for the majority of the shift; and work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining proper PPE.
Ability to use hand tools for extended periods.
Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively in English.
High school education/GED or a minimum of 2 years of related experience in a manufacturing or production environment.

Responsibilities

Read, interpret, understand, and work from blueprints, schematics, bills of material, routing sheets, labor summaries, and other written, electronic, or verbal instructions.
Work with a variety of ferrous, non-ferrous, and alloy materials.
Operate tools and equipment used in the fabrication, handling, manipulation, and movement of chiller products, using various welding techniques.
Perform within and maintain working knowledge of ASME Code regulations.
Use measuring devices and visual inspection to ensure product quality and conformity to prints, work instructions, and standards.
Maintain required records.
