About The Position

Carrier Processing Equipment Group (CPEG) offers customers a comprehensive line of large industrial processing equipment for a wide variety of industries. By combining engineering expertise including high tolerance fabrication and assembly, we design and manufacture custom bulk processing equipment and custom fluid solutions. We are looking for a Welder at our Mathiston, MS location to support the Sly division. This full-time, non-exempt position is responsible for producing quality welded products in accordance to customer and engineering specifications.

Requirements

  • Able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Able to stand and/or walk around the plant for up to 7 hours a day.
  • Maintain regular attendance.
  • Able to work varied hours and shifts if required.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Able understand and adhere to safety policies and procedures.
  • Able to wearing Personnel Protective Equipment (PPE), Operate equipment in a safe manner as trained.
  • Be committed to working safely being mindful of one’s own safety and the safety of co-works.
  • Able to understand and follow directions.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Able to read a tape measure and/or ruler in increments of 1/32”.
  • Understand and perform simple math.
  • Must be dedicated to customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a high standard of quality of work.
  • Understand and able to use and read a framing, square, tri square, and combination square.
  • Able to read or learn to read mechanical prints and drawings.
  • Qualified to or able to qualify within six (6) months to AWS Welding code - D1.1, D1.3 & D1.6 for the following processes: GMAW, FCAW, GTAW.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct all business in accordance with all company policies and safety practices.
  • Responsible for welding products in accordance to specification.
  • Able to be efficient with their time.
  • Knowledgeable of product fabrication procedures.
  • Able to execute the following type of welds: GMAW, FCAW, GTAW.
  • Responsible for tacking and finish welding.
  • Knowledge of product components and how they fit together.
  • Able to read engineering drawings in order to accurately produce equipment.
