About The Position

This position involves using hand-welding or flame cutting equipment to weld or join metal components, or to fill holes, indentations, or seams of fabricated metal products. The role requires adherence to safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations. Responsibilities include clamping, holding, tack-welding, heat-bending, grinding, or bolting component parts, as well as removing rough spots and excess weld material. Welders will operate safety equipment, use safe work habits, and perform welding processes in various positions. The job also involves operating manual or semi-automatic welding equipment for processes such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, and submerged arc welding.

Requirements

  • 1 plus years of experience in Welding
  • General knowledge of tools, equipment, blueprints, models, and technical plans (for Welder I)
  • General knowledge of machines, designs, repair, and maintenance (for Welder I)
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 5% or below (for Welder I)
  • 2-3 years of pipe welding experience (for Welder II)
  • Extensive knowledge of design techniques, production of technical plans, blueprints, models, and drawings (for Welder II)
  • Extensive knowledge of materials, methods, and principals involved in the production of precise technical designs, uses and maintenance (for Welder II)
  • Must possess the ability to perform at least three (3) processes (for Welder II)
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 4% or below (for Welder II)
  • Must be able to perform in most bays (for Welder II)
  • 3-4 plus years of pipe welding experience (for Welder III)
  • Expert knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance (for Welder III)
  • Expert knowledge of design techniques, methods, production of precision technical plans, blueprints, and drawings (for Welder III)
  • Must possess the ability to perform and be efficient in three (3) processes (for Welder III)
  • Maintain a rejection rate of 3% or below (for Welder III)
  • Must be able to perform in all bays (for Welder III)
  • 5 plus years of pipe welding experience (for Welder IV)

Responsibilities

  • Comply with safety and environmental guidelines, policies, and regulations.
  • Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind, or bolt component parts.
  • Remove rough spots from work pieces, using portable grinders, hand files or scrapers.
  • Feather or remove tacks using electric or pneumatic, grinders prior to welding beading pass.
  • Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter, using hand scrapers or power chippers, portable grinders, or arc-cutting equipment.
  • Weld components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
  • Operate safety equipment and use safe work habits.
  • Operate manual or semi-automatic welding equipment to fuse metal segments using processes, such as gas tungsten arc, gas metal arc, flux-cored arc, and submerged arc welding.
