About The Position

Scot Forge is an employee-owned company that manufactures custom open die and rolled ring forgings used in demanding applications all over the world. We have locations in Spring Grove, IL, Clinton, WI and Franklin Park, IL. Scot Forge performs a hair follicle drug screen, lift test up to 65 lbs. and background check. This position involves manual, automated, and mechanized welding operations (GMAW, GTAW, SMAW, SAW) on ferrous & non-ferrous metals per engineering drawings & instructions. The role requires the use of die penetrant or mag particle to locate defects, conduct air arcing to remove material or cracks, and design/build fixtures for repairs. Welders will also load, light, and unload furnaces and review shop order blueprints and welding procedures to determine appropriate welding methods and settings. Tools such as tape measures, calipers, pi tapes, levels, filet gauges will be used.

Requirements

5 years of relevant welding experience without a welding degree
1 year experience in metal fabrication
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong communication
Use of respirator for extended period of time.
Use of fork lifts, grinders, stamping tools, overhead cranes, computers, tool crib machines, and hand tools.
Ability to lift a minimum of 65 lbs.

Nice To Haves

With Technical Weld Certificate or Associate’s Degree from accredited school or equivalent experience
