About The Position

At QA1, we design and build high-performance suspension and driveline components. We are seeking an experienced Welder to join our 2nd-shift team, which operates on a 4-day work week, in Lakeville, Minnesota. In this role, you will be instrumental in transforming raw materials into precision-crafted parts for performance vehicles. Your attention to detail is crucial for ensuring the quality our customers expect.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • MIG welding certification through AWS or 4+ years’ experience and/or training required
  • Commitment to safety and craftsmanship
  • Ability to read blueprints and use inspection tools (micrometers, calipers, etc.).
  • Ability to weld with a welding rotator.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Person people want to work with.
  • Working knowledge of basic hand and/or power tools.
  • Positive attitude, reliable attendance with excellent work ethic.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Basic math, reading, and English communication skills.
  • Comfortable with team interaction or alone under busy conditions with minimal supervision.
  • Must be available and open to the idea of cross training + learning.
  • Ability to meet physical requirements of the job including extended standing 8-10 hours a day with occasionally lifting and/or moving up to 60 lbs.
  • Must be able to effectively work in an environment requiring repetitive job responsibilities
  • Strong technical proficiency with Microsoft Office products and capable of quickly training and becoming proficient with ERP system (Syteline)

Nice To Haves

  • Pulse MIG welding experience is preferred
  • Robotic welding background preferred

Responsibilities

  • Consistently meet or exceed weld production goals and maintain high levels of productivity while minimizing waste while meeting quality standards.
  • Operate robotic equipment, including loading and tacking parts, plus performing touch-ups.
  • Perform basic MIG welding and weld cleaning (both robot and manual).
  • Follow blueprints and specifications, ensuring tight tolerances.
  • Inspect completed products for quality compliance.
  • Keep tools, equipment, and workspace safe and organized.
  • Troubleshoot and report discrepancies or malfunctions to management.
  • Other duties as beneficial to the success of QA1.
