Requirements

At least 1 year of welding experience or training.
High school diploma or equivalent experience (GED) required.
Experience in Production Welding or a Welding Certificate is required.
Ability to read tape measures and blueprints.
Proficiency in operating welding equipment.
Training in applicable SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures) and work instructions.
Capability to read, comprehend, and convey simple or moderately complex instructions.
Ability to write notes or simple correspondence.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out multiple-step instructions of moderate complexity.
Ability to handle standardized situations with a limited set of variables.

Responsibilities

Consult blueprints and coordinate with the Lead person to identify job requirements.
Gather necessary materials and perform layout per specifications.
Set up welding machines and adjust settings to ensure flawless operations.
Operate welding guns to weld steel, aluminum, copper, and other materials.
Visually examine welds for adherence to quality standards; re-weld defective joints and remove surplus slag, flux, and spatter using a brush, pad, buffer, and/or grinder.
Operate cutting torch and manual plasma cutter as needed.
Apply weld stencil and inform the Lead person or Inspector when the product is ready for inspection.
Perform ongoing housekeeping duties to keep the work area clear of scrap and debris.
