Job Summary Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural weld forms, such as frames for assembly using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience with TIG welding and ability to complete successful welds on the 6G position interview day.
  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Able to demonstrate a successful TIG weld.
  • Ability to TIG weld stainless.
  • Basic mathematics skills.
  • Must be able to perform work with appropriate PPE for welding (welding helmet, gloves, etc.).
  • Must be able to don PPE appropriate for working in Engineered Equipment including safety glasses and shoes.
  • Ability to operate metal fabrication power and hand tools such for grinding, cutting, finishing, etc. is required.
  • Some sitting and computer work is required.
  • Some unassisted lifting up to 50 lbs. is required – majority of metal movement assisted with cranes/hoists.
  • Applicants are required to be eligible to lawfully work in the U.S. immediately; employer will not sponsor applicants for U.S. work authorization (e.g. H-1B visa) for this opportunity

Responsibilities

  • Lay out, fit, and fabricate metal components to assemble structural weld forms, such as frames for assembly using knowledge of welding techniques, metallurgy, and engineering requirements.
  • Read and interpret blueprints, diagrams, and schematics and be able to work from sketches or verbal instructions.
  • Perform precision welding in various positions.
  • Configure welding machines by selecting correct polarity, setting amperage and adjusting shield gas flow rates based on material thickness and type.
  • Assists with other departments as needed.
  • Works with and coordinates activities with other job classifications.
  • Follows safe work practices and all environmental, health and safety policies and procedures.
  • Reads and understands shop orders and bill of materials.
  • Understands how the tools and materials replenishment system operates.
