About The Position

The Welder Foreman is responsible for making sure the shop runs smoothly from day to day, by ensuring the team has everything they need to be successful. This role involves overseeing daily operations, managing manpower, ensuring deadlines are met, and upholding safety policies. The position also includes responsibilities for new hire orientation, facilitating team training, and maintaining shop cleanliness. Additionally, the role involves putting together estimates on fabrication, material take-off and ordering, and assisting with projects as needed.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED Required
  • Knowledge of the construction process from scheduling to manpower to the labor, materials and equipment required for installation
  • Knowledge of Constructability and the construction process
  • Knowledge of Welding Codes – AWS, ASME and QA/QC procedures related to these codes
  • Skill in conceptual estimating (conceiving a project in your mind and all the components of that project)
  • Skill in acting as a self starter
