About The Position
SCHWING America is looking for an experienced 1st Shift Welder to join our manufacturing team. Our Welders perform precision welding on heavy equipment components while working from blueprints and established AWS and company quality standards.
Requirements
- Technical degree or diploma in Welding required.
- Qualified to AWS D1.1 standards.
- Ability to pass SCHWING America welding tests and maintain welding certification through periodic testing.
- Strong blueprint-reading skills.
- Experience performing position welding.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to consistently produce high-quality welds.
- Basic computer skills.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret blueprints to determine weld locations, components, and layouts.
- Perform position welding on component parts according to prints and specifications.
- Review daily production requirements with the Production Lead.
- Perform grinding, deburring, and polishing to produce high-quality finished components.
- Inspect completed work to ensure welds meet established quality standards.
- Perform repair and re-welding according to applicable German DIN and AWS standards.
- Perform field welding when required.
- Identify and report safety, equipment, tooling, or quality concerns.
- Use barcode scanners and computer systems to track production and labor.
- Maintain required welding qualifications and certifications.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
