About The Position

A Welder at D&H Industries performs a variety of welding utilizing MIG/Robotic Welders and Resistance Welders to ensure components are welded to engineered specifications. This is a 1st Shift position with hours typically Monday through Thursday from 5 a.m. to 3 p.m. (10-hour shifts) and Fridays from 5 a.m. to 1 p.m. (8-hour shift). Schedules are subject to change based on business needs, with typical work schedules between 8-to 10-hour shifts throughout the year.

Requirements

HS Diploma or Equivalent
At least 1 year of relevant manufacturing/welding experience preferred.
Basic reading, writing and math skills.
Working knowledge of blueprint reading preferred.
Ability to read measurements in metric and traditional scale.

Responsibilities

Read blueprints/drawings and job routing and take or read measurements to plan layout and procedures.
Determine the appropriate welding equipment or method based on requirements.
Set up components for welding according to specifications.
Weld components/parts by operating MIG /Robotic Welders and Spot/Resistance Welders to setup sheets specifications.
Produce complex welded assemblies to close tolerances to produce quality results.
Inspect weldments for obvious and non-obvious defects such as, but not limited to: weld spatter, rough welds, missing welds and sharp corners/edges, correct weld lengths and size.
Perform metal finishing such as grinding to remove defects and/or fix surfaces to bring them to the required quality level.
May be assigned to work in other areas of the production floor as needed to meet production deadlines.
