About The Position

This position involves welding and repairing barges. The role requires working both indoors and outdoors in various conditions, including confined spaces and on barge decks. The company offers a full benefit package, a year-end bonus program of up to 10% of wages, and a $2,000.00 hiring bonus for those hired before August 31st. The starting pay ranges from $25.00 to $30.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Must be able to work well independently or as part of a team
• Must be able to wear Personal flotation devices, Gloves, Steel-toed boots, Hard hats, Ear and eye protection, Welding protective equipment, Weather dictated clothing, Equipment designed to prevent inhaling of foreign substances

Nice To Haves

• Proficient in stick and wire feed welding
• Ability to weld in overhead, flat, and/or vertical locations

Responsibilities

• Handle and use equipment and tools necessary to prep, weld, and repair barges
• Assist with barge cleaning as directed
• Handle lines and rigging to moor barges to docks and other barges
• Visually inspect tanks for excess water
• Operate pumps to remove excess water from tanks
• Operate Company equipment
• Perform other job duties as assigned
