About The Position

Advance Storage Products is seeking reliable, long-term team members to join their thriving environment as Welders. The company is the country's leading manufacturer of pushback systems, recognized for its quality and durability. Welders will be responsible for joining, repairing, and fabricating metal components using various welding techniques while ensuring safety and structural integrity. This role involves reviewing job orders and blueprints, measuring and cutting metal, performing welding, inspecting welds, maintaining equipment, and applying knowledge of metallurgy. The position will collaborate with team members to implement safe, LEAN processes and embrace continuous improvement.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, or equivalent preferred
  • Welding Diploma or applicable years of experience in a welding environment
  • Successful completion of an internal welding test
  • Working knowledge of blueprints, standard concepts, practices, and procedures within the metal fabrication industry.
  • Working knowledge of fixturing and weld set up parameters
  • Understanding of standard measurement tape
  • Ability to maintain excellent attendance
  • Ability to manage time and meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a high-paced environment
  • Willingness to cross train in other areas
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision requirements
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs. throughout the 10-hour shift
  • Ability to stand for long periods of time
  • Ability to work in a confined area
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities

Responsibilities

  • Perform welding in a proficient manner utilizing various welding techniques
  • Interpret shop drawings, including weld wire symbology.
  • Implement knowledge of wire and filler material applications for various steel alloys, aluminum, and galvanized metal.
  • Utilize conventional and precision measuring instruments
  • Implement process inspection, certification, and documentation as required.
  • Maintain welding equipment
  • Finish grinding applications using manual and power tools
  • Adhere to all safety and housekeeping policies and procedures.
