Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a formal apprenticeship OR at least two (2) years’ welding experience.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • All candidates selected will be subject to background investigation and drug screen
  • This position requires access to onsite locations managing government information, which contains Not Releasable to Foreign Nationals (NOFORN) data. Therefore, to meet NOFORN requirements, you will have to provide proof of US Citizenship and attest that you do not have dual citizenship.
  • Must be able to perform the essential functions of the position satisfactorily and, if requested, reasonable accommodations will be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of their job, absent undue hardship.

Nice To Haves

  • MIG and TIG welding experience in a production environment preferred.
  • Professional Certification (e.g. an AWS welding certificate) is preferred.
  • Self-starter, capable of independent problem solving.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to listen, understand, and follow directions.

Responsibilities

  • Performs the welding process on aluminum, stainless steel, and steel parts and assemblies to required tolerances using welding metals and metal alloys and cutting, burning, and welding techniques and equipment.
  • Determines layouts and welds parts and assemblies according to engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Prepares, assembles, and tacks weld parts and surfaces to be welded.
  • Monitors the welding, burning, and fitting process to ensure parts are not overheated or damaged by warping, distortion, expansion, or shrinkage.
  • Maintains, organizes, and cleans equipment and the work area.
  • Other duties as assigned.
