About The Position

A Talos Welder plays a crucial role in the manufacturing process. A Talos welder will be responsible for fabricating and assembling metal structures and equipment through the use of welders, cutters, shapers, and measuring tools. A keen attention to detail and a commitment to safety and quality are essential for this role.

Requirements

  • Must be able to read and understand various measuring tools such as a tape measure, calipers, or micrometers.
  • Must use all safety PPE required for welding and do so without supervision.
  • Must show ability to accurately weld on an assortment of materials as prescribed by the work schedule including but not limited to stainless steel, galvanized, hot roll steel, cold roll steel, etc.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints/work orders, to ensure proper components are being used in the product.
  • Must be able to acquire a general understanding of quality expectations and standards.
  • Must keep area clean and orderly.
  • Must be able to lift minimum of 50 lbs. repeatedly throughout the shift.
  • Must have a positive attitude everyday as defined by leadership and peers.
  • Must have all qualifications of a Welder I.
  • Must be able to work independently without the direction of others, while producing quality work without defect.
  • Must have a full understanding of the manufacturing process at Talos in regard to the following: How products travel through the plant, Why they travel in the order that they do, How the Welder position affects the process down stream.
  • Must be able to train entry level Welders (Welder I) as needed.
  • Must be self-motivated.
  • Must have all of the qualifications of a Welder II.
  • Should be able to trouble shoot minor issue with weld equipment.
  • Must be able to direct product and materials through the welding department for maximum efficiency.
  • Must understand and follow all quality protocols for the department as define by the QC team.
  • Must be able to demonstrate the following leadership skills: Ability and willingness to mentor class I and class II Welders, Ability and willingness to set the work pace.
  • Must have knowledge or experience in other departments and actively pursue work in those areas when work is slow at your primary machine or work center.

Responsibilities
