About The Position

This position is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the machine/repair function. The role involves coordinating work within the department and with other departments, reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor, and responding to inquiries or requests for information. The job operates on a weekend shift schedule, working three 12-hour shifts on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, from 5 AM. Employees are paid for 40 hours and receive a $3/hour weekend shift differential.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Must pass welding procedures test
  • Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills
  • Proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills
  • Proficient mechanical skills
  • Proficient PC skills, including Internet
  • Visual and auditory skills
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less
  • Ability to operate heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment
  • Ability to work at elevated heights or in confined spaces
  • A minimum of three (3) years' experience in related positions

Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of duties to support the machine/repair function.
  • Use MIG, stick electrode, and brazing welding process.
  • Layout, position, align, and fit components together.
  • Bolt, clamp, and tack weld parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Repair products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts. Repair can include cutting, grinding, carbon arc, or oxy-acetylene torch.
  • Read blue prints or follow verbal instructions for repairs and fabrication.
  • Coordinates specific work tasks with other personnel within the department as well as with other departments in order to ensure the smooth and efficient flow of information.
  • Abides by the current laws and organizational policies and procedures designed and implemented to promote an environment which is free of harassment and other forms of illegal discriminatory behavior in the work place.
  • Cooperates with, participates in, and supports the adherence to all internal policies, procedures, and practices in support of risk management and overall safety and soundness and the company’s compliance with all regulatory requirements.
  • Reports pertinent information to the immediate supervisor as requested, or according to an established schedule; compiles information as necessary or as directed and provides data to appropriate personnel.
  • Responds to inquiries relating to his/her particular area, or to requests from customers, other personnel, etc., within given time frames and within established policy.
