About The Position
This position involves welding various components in a scrap metal facility. Requirements
- Must pass a medical physical and drug test.
- Must pass a background check.
- Ability to communicate with others effectively.
- Ability to understand direction (written or oral).
- Ability to use basic math skills as the job demands.
Nice To Haves

- High school diploma or GED and/or foreign education acceptable.
- Bi-lingual (English & Spanish) language skills.
- Welding school or certification.
- Previous experience in scrap metal recycling.
- Forklift experience.
Responsibilities
- Weld parts of fixed equipment that need repair.
- Weld new parts for assembly.
- Build up parts that have worn thin.
- Repair cracks in mobile equipment such as the boom of a material handler.
- Install conduit, fasteners, hooks, and pulleys.
- Construct platforms, stairs, catwalks, guardrails, and equipment supports.
- Clean up work area at the end of shift.
- Keep work areas neat and orderly.
- Organize materials for effective use of space.
- Dispose of various waste materials in the appropriate manner.
- Inspect to ensure cleanup is completed.
- Maintain effective housekeeping in the workplace area for safety and hygienic conditions.
