About The Position

Wieland is a global leader in copper and copper alloy manufacturing, processing, and distribution, serving various industries including power, automotive, ammunition, coinage, construction materials, refrigeration, and electronics. The company is hiring for Weekend Welders at levels I, II, and III, seeking skilled individuals for positions ranging from entry-level to expert. Welders will be responsible for performing a wide variety of operations associated with the welded assembly of final products, sub-assemblies, and components, adhering to shop drawings, procedures, and ASME Code Safety Regulations. They will also maintain equipment and facilities in a safe, clean, and efficient operational manner, and prepare and maintain records regarding safety, quality, productivity, preventive maintenance, and housekeeping. The facility is located at 45 Sutton Road, Verona, VA 24482. The starting pay ranges from $28 to $39 per hour, with adjustments based on experience and qualifications. A weekend shift differential of $3.00 per hour is offered for the Friday-Sunday schedule (6:00 am - 6:00 pm). Training will be conducted on the 1st shift, Monday - Thursday.

Requirements

• Welder Level I: 1–3-year experience or commensurate education from trade school.
• Welder Level I: Capable of MIG and TIG welding of parts and pipe, but not yet certified with the company for welding of parts under pressure.
• Welder Level I: Ability to read and apply WPS, read drawings.
• Welder Level I: Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.
• Welder Level I: Methodical, organized, and precise.
• Welder Level I: Proactive in proposing solutions.
• Welder Level I: Perform work in various physical positions including standing, kneeling, bending and reaching.
• Welder Level I: Perform work in heavy industrial setting with exposure to heat, cold, humidity, industrial odors, fumes, gases, chemicals, oil, grease, smoke, dust, noise, vibration, work from an elevated platform and working in cramped quarters, e.g., inside vessels.
• Welder Level I: Ability to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) required for this position, including hearing protection, safety eyewear, safety footwear, face shield, welding helmet, welding gloves, welding sleeves/jacket, welding apron/chaps.
• Welder Level I: MIG/TIG @ 6G preferred - minimum of 1 year of pipe welding experience.
• Welder Level II: At least 3–5-year experience in MIG and TIG welding of pipe or pressure vessels.
• Welder Level II: Experience and certification in welding in accordance to ASME standard – certified with the company for welding of parts under pressure.
• Welder Level II: Ability to read and apply WPS, read drawings.
• Welder Level II: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve minor issues related to fitting and welding components.
• Welder Level III: At least 5+ years’ experience in MIG and TIG welding of pipe or pressure vessels (certified experience).
• Welder Level III: Experience and certification in welding in accordance with ASME standard.
• Welder Level III: Ability to train other welders.
• Welder Level III: Ability to read and apply WPS, read drawings, and teach others to do so.
• Welder Level III: Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to fitting and welding components.
• Welder Level III: Strong aptitude for problem solving and teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Following production orders, prepare parts and tack and weld components into assemblies.
• Execute welds in accordance with company's procedures and documents, while meeting defined quality standards.

• Maintain equipment and facilities in a safe, clean, and efficiently operational manner.
