About The Position

This role involves planning and executing all work activities with a primary focus on safety, adhering to all safety regulations and procedures. The position requires maintaining a clean and orderly working environment. Key tasks include various torch operations, preheating and post-heating, crack repair, basic buildup, welding and fabrication using dual shield welding (1/16 and 3/32), and teardown and rebuilding of hard iron parts. The welder will also be responsible for welding parts using positioners, preparing buildup parts for machining without slag inclusions, and performing brazing with bronze and nickel wire buildup. Additionally, the role includes inspecting and documenting incoming jobs, reading and utilizing measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers), and understanding blueprints. Preparation for welding through grinding and maintaining a clean personal area and work environment by picking up scrap metal are also essential duties. The welder must follow safety protocols and maintain equipment in good working order.

Requirements

Nice To Haves

Responsibilities

  • Plan and conduct all work activities with safety as their priority.
  • Observe and be knowledgeable of all safety regulations and procedures.

  • Perform air arching and air slicing.
  • Conduct torch operations including track torch, scarfing, and straight tip.
  • Perform preheat and post heat operations.
  • Execute crack repair and basic buildup.
  • Perform welding and fabrication.
  • Conduct dual shield welding with 1/16 and 3/32 wire.
  • Teardown and rebuild hard iron parts.
  • Weld parts using positioners.
  • Weld buildup parts for machining with no slag inclusions.
  • Perform brazing.
  • Perform bronze wire and nickel wire buildup.
  • Inspect and write up incoming jobs.
  • Read and use all types of measuring tools (tape measures, calipers, micrometers).
  • Read and understand blueprints.
  • Perform grinding preparation for weld.
  • Keep personal area clean and dump garbage.
  • Keep scrap metals picked up.
  • Follow safety protocol.
  • Maintain equipment in good working order.
