About The Position

This position is responsible for MIG & TIG welding and is accountable for all results. The role involves working in a fast-paced industrial environment and requires adherence to safety, quality, productivity, and communication standards.

Requirements

  • High School Education or higher
  • Able to read & interpret customer drawings
  • Proficient using measuring tools
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills
  • MIG & TIG welding experience
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced industrial environment
  • Ability to lift, carry, push or pull 1-50 lbs. frequently
  • Ability to squat/kneel, bend, crawl, twist/turn, grasp and reach overhead & outward
  • Ability to sit, stand and walk for 1 to 8 hours per day
  • Ability to work in hot & cold work environment
  • Ability to work in an environment with concrete floors
  • Ability to work safely in a constantly changing work environment
  • Ability to work with tools, including small hand tools, cutters, pliers, grinders, etc.
  • Ability to handle & work safely around material and parts with burrs, sharp edges, etc.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure a safe workplace and follow all safety rules, including wearing required personal protective equipment and reporting accidents or safety issues.
  • Follow all SOPs and quality standards, maintain Welding Procedure Specifications, and inspect/test weld structures and surfaces for flaws.
  • Inspect parts, secure second verification, and verify dimensions per work order.
  • Verify material type, gauge, and size, and report defective materials.
  • Manufacture parts per Router/work instruction requirements and report all required information and router discrepancies.
  • Participate in relevant training activities and learn company processes and procedures.
  • Accurately report productivity (setup & run) and good material & scrap.
  • Work with supervision to implement productivity improvements and setup reduction strategies.
  • Set up welding machines for optimal performance, monitor equipment settings, and report maintenance issues.
  • Maintain equipment and conduct required operator preventative maintenance.
  • Provide feedback to the management team for ideas and improvements, expressing ideas verbally in a positive and productive manner.
  • Exhibit good communication, listening, and comprehension skills.
  • Execute work plan per schedule.
  • Set up welding machines.
  • MIG & TIG weld steel, aluminum & stainless based upon specifications.
  • Join & fabricate components to customer requirements.
  • De-bur & grind metal to achieve proper surface texture.
  • Read & interpret blueprints & drawings to layout jobs.
  • Pay close attention to detail & focus on job at hand.
  • Cooperate, support co-workers and be a strong team player.
  • Be reliable and adhere to attendance policy.
  • Maintain organization and housekeeping.
  • Perform other duties as requested.
