SMS Equipment is seeking a certified Journeyperson Welder with a passion for heavy equipment to join their team in Williams Lake, BC. This role involves repairing, fabricating, and assembling Komatsu and other industrial equipment. The ideal candidate takes pride in delivering high-quality work in a safe, fast-paced environment.

Requirements

Journeyperson Welder certification
Strong blueprint interpretation and technical skills
Highly motivated with a strong work ethic and commitment to excellence
Acute safety awareness and ability to work independently
Effective interpersonal skills to collaborate with diverse teams
Knowledge of maintenance and repair of mining equipment
Ability to meet customer site access requirements, including: Pre-employment medical examination, Drug & alcohol check, 5 year commercial drivers abstract, Ticket Verification, Successful completion of Weld Test

Responsibilities

Repair, fabricate, and assemble Komatsu and other heavy-duty industrial equipment
Follow layouts, blueprints, and work orders accurately
Customize mobile equipment or parts per customer specifications
Conduct failure analysis and develop welding repair processes with Service Manager
Provide welding support primarily in the field, occasionally in the shop
Work safely in a challenging environment with minimal supervision
