About The Position

Propulsion Controls Engineering has multiple positions open for Welder Journeyman, with a minimum of five years marine and/or shipyard experience; supporting our San Diego, California location. PCE is a full service electro-mechanical repair and diesel repair contractor. PCE has garnered a wealth of extensive experience in successfully executing major system overhauls across numerous ports throughout the world on virtually every class of ship currently in operation.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older to apply.
• Minimum 5 years of marine and/or shipyard experience preferred.
• Eligible to obtain base access clearance, which includes passing a background check and presenting valid government-issued identification.
• Acceptable ID must be REAL ID-compliant or an approved form of federal identification, such as a valid U.S. passport.

Nice To Haves

• Basic knowledge of fittings preferred.

Responsibilities

• Welder with advanced knowledge of FCAW, SMAW, GTAW, GMAW and BRAZE and the ability to determine proper weld joint design without Supervision.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.
