About The Position

The Welder I performs welding tasks using various methods such as GTAW, PAW and Resistance Welding. This role requires the ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to complete work accurately. The Welder I will cut, shape, and assemble metal parts according to instructions, and inspect finished products for quality, accuracy, and compliance with specifications. Responsibilities also include setting up welding equipment, maintaining tools, selecting appropriate welding materials, operating basic hand and power tools, and maintaining inventory of welding materials. Safety is paramount, requiring adherence to all company safety policies, procedures, and OSHA regulations, wearing proper PPE, and participating in safety training. The role involves maintaining accurate records of work performed and communicating effectively with supervisors and team members.

Requirements

Basic knowledge of welding techniques and processes (GTAW, PAW, Resistance).
Ability to read blueprints, technical drawings, and specifications.
Strong attention to detail and quality workmanship.
Physical stamina and manual dexterity.
Commitment to workplace safety and following procedures.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum one (1) year of welding experience.

Completion of a welding training program or vocational certification preferred.

Responsibilities

Identify and report hazards or unsafe conditions to supervisors.
Participate in safety training and maintain compliance with welding certifications.
Maintain accurate records of work performed, including materials used and job progress.
Report completed work and any issues or defects to supervisors promptly.
Work closely with other welders, fabricators, and production team members.
Assist higher-level welders or technicians as needed for complex tasks.
Communicate effectively with supervisors regarding work progress and challenges.
