About The Position

Southern Fabricators is seeking a dependable Welder I to join their manufacturing team. This position is ideal for someone with basic welding experience or technical training who is eager to develop their skills while producing high-quality work in a safe, team-oriented environment. The Welder I will perform tack welds and basic welds according to blueprints, work instructions, and specifications, inspect completed welds to ensure quality, appearance, and structural integrity, and read and interpret blueprints, welding symbols, and part numbers. They will also assist with setting up, adjusting, and maintaining welding equipment, select and use appropriate fixtures, tools, and welding consumables, and follow all welding safety procedures and wear required PPE at all times. Additionally, they will apply basic welding concepts including square, flat, and plumb, maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, and report equipment issues, quality concerns, or safety hazards to supervision. Attention to detail and commitment to quality are essential for ensuring products meet high standards.

Requirements

  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks including standing, bending, and reaching throughout the workday
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well as part of a team

Nice To Haves

  • Basic welding experience or completion of a technical welding program preferred
  • Familiarity with MIG, TIG, or Stick welding processes
  • Ability to read blueprints and understand welding symbols
  • Strong desire to learn, improve, and grow within a manufacturing environment
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work

Responsibilities

  • Perform tack welds and basic welds according to blueprints, work instructions, and specifications
