About The Position

Quality Steel Corporation is seeking a Welder I to join their team. The primary focus of this role is to ensure safety and meet quality expectations while performing welding tasks. The Welder I will be responsible for inspecting equipment, operating weld machines to specifications, selecting and installing fittings, performing welds according to company and code requirements, conducting quality control checks, and maintaining a clean workstation.

Requirements

• Knowledge of welding and metal properties, electrical equipment, and manual tools/gauges.
• Ability to operate a MIG welder and set parameters as needed.
• Ability to safely lift/move up to 60 lbs.
• Ability to record data accurately and in a timely manner.
• Ability to receive and follow verbal and written instructions.
• Ability to work collaboratively with team members to accomplish departmental goals and improve operations.

Nice To Haves

• Minimum of one year of welding experience.
• Certified Welder License.

Responsibilities

• Ensure Safety First, Safety Always, and meet or exceed Quality expectations.
• Inspect equipment to be utilized prior to shift start.
• Set and/or operate weld machines to manufacturer’s specifications, meeting time budgets for finished product.
• Select, install, and position required fittings in accordance with Standard Work Instructions.
• Perform welds to meet all company and code requirements.
• Perform Quality Control.
• Visually inspect welds for defects.
• Report defects to Supervisor.
• Maintain machines and cleanliness of workstation.
