Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED or 6 months of related work experience.
  • Proficient in MIG welding on steel and aluminum as demonstrated by an on-site weld skills test.

Nice To Haves

  • Technical school certification in related field.
  • Certified in operation of break and shear.

Responsibilities

  • Assembling parts together.
  • Setting up various parts for the welding process such as drilling, grinding, and welding.
  • Welding sheet metal.
  • Reading blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment.
  • Communicating verbally with co-workers to keep a safe working environment.
  • Following written and verbal instructions to complete tasks.
  • Understanding and reviewing work orders, diagrams, check lists, and blueprints.
  • Setting up parts for the welding process.
  • Grinding, drilling, cutting, clamping, caulking, tack welding, bench welding and/or sub welding.
  • Assembling parts.
  • Applying measurements to parts and equipment.
  • Using and operating hand and power tools.
  • Operating a crane/hoist for heavy lifting.
  • Assisting co-workers with heavy lifting of parts.
  • Understanding the differences in parts and tools.
  • Working required hours and having an excellent attendance record.
  • Working overtime as needed.
  • Sweeping and cleaning shop area.
  • Installing hose and cord reels and generators.
  • Mounting of parts.
  • Retrieving parts from outside.
  • Participating in rotating jobs.
  • Assisting in training new employees.
