About The Position

The Welder I sets up and operates welding equipment to produce finished products in accordance with manufacturer specifications, time budgets, Standard Work Instructions, and applicable company and code requirements. The role emphasizes safety and quality, including equipment checks before shifts and inspection of completed welds. The Welder I also maintains machines and keeps the workstation clean while collaborating with team members to support departmental goals and improve operations.

Requirements

Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to work in varying environmental conditions, including heat, humidity, and cold.
Knowledge of welding and metal properties, electrical equipment, and manual tools and gauges.
Ability to operate a MIG welder and set parameters as needed.
Ability to safely lift or move up to 60 pounds.
Ability to record data accurately and in a timely manner.
Ability to receive and follow verbal and written instructions.
Ability to work collaboratively with team members.

Nice To Haves

At least one year of welding experience.
Certified Welder License.

Responsibilities

Prioritize safety and meet or exceed quality expectations.
Inspect equipment before the start of each shift.
Set up and/or operate welding machines according to manufacturer specifications and meet time budgets for finished products.
Select, install, and position required fittings according to Standard Work Instructions.
Perform welds that meet company and code requirements.
Perform quality control and visually inspect welds for defects.
Report defects to the Supervisor.
Maintain machines and keep the workstation clean.
Record data accurately and promptly.
Follow verbal and written instructions and collaborate with team members to accomplish departmental goals and improve operations.
