About The Position

Sturgeon Electric Manufacturing has an opening for a highly skilled Welder. Your daily responsibilities will include but not limited to reviewing specifications, laying out metal components, cutting, fabricating, and welding those pieces together to create custom fabrications. We expect our welders and fabricators to complete each job within specific deadlines. Our ideal candidate has at least three years of welding experience and a working knowledge of standard welding tools and techniques. Interpret drawings and plans to understand project scope and specifications. Produce templates and other work aids Provide material take-off and rough drawings when needed Utilize industry tools and equipment, including powered saws, hydraulic press brake, shears, portable grinders, fiber laser, plasma cutter, metal lathes, and mills. Use precision measuring tools to inspect grooves and angles. Weld parts out of mild steel, galvanized metal, stainless steel, and sheet metal, in flat, vertical, and/or overhead positions. Maintain proper equipment; repair when needed

Requirements

  • Hydraulic or CNC Press Brake experience
  • Sheet Metal Lasers experience
  • CNC Table
  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Follow all safety precautions
  • Sheet metal experience necessary. Steel, Stainless Steel, Aluminum, Galvanized, 11ga. To 18ga. (cutting, forming, welding).
  • Working knowledge of industry tools and equipment
  • Able to read blueprints
  • Proficient in basic math
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
  • Problem solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years of professional welding experience preferred
  • MIG, TIG, Welder Certification a plus
