About The Position

Located 20 minutes from downtown Pittsburgh, Tri-Arc upholds Pittsburgh’s industrial traditions by manufacturing its products in the U.S. Tri-Arc is an industry leader, offering a wide variety of high-quality products designed to help customers operate safely and efficiently. Tri-Arc is seeking steel MIG welders for 1st shift (6:00 am to 2:30 pm) and 2nd shift (2:30 pm to 11:00 pm). This role offers a competitive starting rate and a generous benefit package. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to join the United Steelworkers Union after completing a probationary period. All candidates must pass a welding test and provide their own welding gear. This is an excellent opportunity for welders seeking to develop into skilled craftsmen.

Requirements

  • Welding: 6 months to 1 year of experience
  • Must bring own welding gear
  • Must pass a welding test

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, or tend welding machines that join or bond components to fabricate metal products or assemblies.
  • Assemble, align, and clamp workpieces into holding fixtures to bond, heat-treat, or solder fabricated metal components.
  • Lays out, positions, aligns, and fits components together (usually in fixtures).
  • Bolts, clamps, and tack-welds parts to secure in position for welding.
  • Reads job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements.
  • Sets up equipment and welds parts, using MIG welding equipment.
  • Assembles parts by bolting and riveting.
  • Operates various punch presses, drill presses, shears, saws, and tube bending equipment.
  • Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping, and reassembling parts.
