About The Position

Granite Mountain Quarries Plant 1 in Little Rock, Arkansas is currently recruiting for Welder Helper - Night. This role is responsible for assisting with maintenance and fabrication welding associated with aggregate plant operations, including conveyors, stackers, bins, chutes, crusher platforms, and shakers. The position requires the ability to safely navigate structures by climbing stairs and ladders and walking on elevated structures. The Welder Helper will work with the maintenance and welding teams during the night shift and perform other tasks as required by business necessity. This is a strenuous position that involves carrying up to 50 pounds for approximately 600 feet (with breaks) while gaining elevation on conveyors and stackers, including climbing 45 or more continuous steps. Duties are performed in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold, rain, and potentially on icy catwalks or platforms, especially at night. The Welder Helper will also be required to carry welding equipment up stairs. General aggregate plant maintenance and housekeeping are part of the daily responsibilities. This employment position may be considered a Safety Sensitive Position.

Requirements

• Currently employed with Granite Mountain Quarries.
• Experience doing maintenance or service work (quarry or non-quarry).
• Willing to work up to a 12-hour night shift and additional overtime and weekends if necessary.
• Willing and available to work a varying start time based on plant availability.
• Willing and able to climb ladder or stairs to navigate plant, conveyors, bins, and stackers.
• Willing and able to carry 100 pounds the length of a conveyor or stacker (approximately 600').
• Willing and able to perform the basic qualifications identified in the job description for Plant Welder Helper - Night.

Responsibilities

• Helping maintenance and fabrication welding associated with aggregate plant operations.
• Safely navigating structures by climbing stairs and ladders and walking on elevated structures.
• Working with the maintenance and welding teams safely and positively during the night shift.
• Performing other tasks as required by business necessity.
• Carrying up to 50 pounds for approximately 600 feet (with breaks) which would gain elevation on conveyors and stackers, including 45 or more continuous steps.
• Performing duties in all weather conditions to include extreme heat and cold conditions as well as rain (all precipitation) and even possibly on catwalk or platforms that contain ice, especially at night.
• Carrying welding equipment up stairs.
• General aggregate plant maintenance housekeeping.
