Compass Systems is seeking a Welder for our Barberton, Ohio location. We are engineers and custom fabricators in every sense. Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous welding experience.
Must be comfortable welding 22ga – ¾” thick steel or stainless steel.
Motivated individual possessing the ability to work independently, with minimal supervision.
Demonstrates positive safety attitude.
Ability to identify problems and inform supervisor.
Ability to stand for 9 or more hours and able to lift up to 75 lbs.

Responsibilities

Drive forklift to move parts into and out of work area.
Safely rig and move parts with overhead crane.
Read detailed blueprints and follow instructions.
Layout, fit, and weld metal parts to hit critical dimensions.
Weld in all positions with mig, stick, and tig.
Check that proper wire, gas, and machine settings on welder are being used.
Repair or modify existing or refurbished parts.
Maintain and use oxygen/acetylene torch and hand plasma cutter.
Examine weld for bead size and other specifications.
Preheat workpiece with torch.
Safely use and maintain hand tools (Grinders, air motors, porta-power, clamps, etc.).
Chip or grind off excess weld, slag, or spatter.
Show up on time and work scheduled hours.
Take direction and work well with others.
Other duties as assigned – work overtime when needed.
