Welder Container Shop – Solid Waste Industry - Fort Myers Area
About The Position
The Waste Pro Welder/Fabricator repairs equipment parts, vehicles, and containers. The role performs maintenance and repairs on front-load, rear-load, recycling, and roll-off trucks and other assets as needed. It includes welding, cutting, bending, and fabricating steel and aluminum components, maintaining a clean and safe work area, following safety procedures, and completing required paperwork. Employees attend assigned company training, stay current with job-relevant technology, and perform additional duties as assigned by a supervisor. The normal work setting is both indoors and outdoors, with occasional exposure to extreme weather. The role may involve exposure to chemicals and residential waste. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
Requirements
- At least one year of welding experience.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid driver's license.
- Ability to walk, jog, twist, crouch, climb a ladder, and reach overhead.
- Ability to push, pull, drag, and lift items weighing up to 50 pounds.
- Sufficient stamina to maintain a steady work pace throughout the day.
- Ability to use all personal protective equipment mandated by the company.

- Waste industry experience preferred.
Responsibilities
- Repair and maintain front-load, rear-load, recycling, and roll-off trucks and other assets as needed.
- Cut and weld repairs to vehicle floors, bodies, packing blades, rails, and fabricated components.
- Weld steel and aluminum components using a MIG gun and arc-welding equipment.
- Bend steel components using a brake and shear.
- Cut steel using a plasma cutter or torch.
- Fabricate steel components for trucks and containers.
- Maintain shop cleanliness by sweeping welding debris, cleaning the welding area, and disposing of trash.
- Follow all safety policies and procedures and use mandated personal protective equipment.
- Complete required paperwork.
- Attend and participate in company-sponsored training as assigned.
- Keep up to date on job-appropriate current technology used by Waste Pro USA.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
