ISC is looking for skilled, technical candidates to fill a welding/fabricator position at our Minneapolis, Minnesota location. The Welder/Metal Fabricator will perform MIG and TIG welding, metal fabricating, assembly, maintenance and quality control. Our growing company manufactures and supplies custom industrial control solutions and high-tech electro/mechanical components and services to major local manufacturing and maintenance companies in a variety of industries. Requirements

Proven experience as a welder or fabricator.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Technical knowledge of different metal types and welding techniques (MIG/TIG).
Ability to stand for long periods, lift heavy materials (50lbs), and work in uncomfortable positions.
Precision in measuring, marking, and calculating angles and dimensions using dial calipers, tape measures, squares, etc.
Strict compliance with safety protocols, including wearing PPE and managing fumes/hazards.

Nice To Haves

Technical school training or apprenticeship.
AWS (American Welding Society) certifications.

Responsibilities

Reading and interpreting engineering drawings, blueprints, and schematics to plan projects.
Cutting, grinding, drilling, bending, and shaping materials (steel, aluminum, and stainless steel) using tools like torches, saws, and grinders.
Joining components using welding techniques such as MIG (GMAW), TIG (GTAW).
Aligning, jigging, and fitting parts to ensure they are square, plumb, and to specification, including small assemblies and broaching keyways.
Inspecting welds for accuracy, strength, and structural soundness.
Cleaning and maintaining welding equipment and tools to ensure safe operation.
